Brad Bachmeier

Brad Bachmeier's ceramic vessels and sculpture tell the story of our ancient and universal partnership with clay. His work incorporates the study of religion, global patterns, symbols, iconography, and various firing techniques. He says, “I am committed to creating work that can tell the story of humanity's shared virtues in a way that is contemporary and meaningful to our culture in the hope of helping to revive its collective conscience.”

A professor of art at Minnesota State University Moorhead, Brad has a B.S. in art education from MSUM (1993), and a Master of Fine Arts degree in ceramics from the University of North Dakota (2008). He also taught art for 15 years at all levels in K-12 in Minnesota and North Dakota.

Brad was featured on HGTV’s “That’s Clever” as well as being awarded the 2007 national NICHE award in wheel-thrown ceramics and the 2008 third place award in ceramics in the international “ARTBUZZ” competition & book publication. He exhibits work regularly in regional venues often in conjunction with ceramic forming and firing, or business and marketing workshops at post-secondary institutions. Brad shows annually at the Rourke Gallery and Museum as well as nationally in top juried art fairs. His ceramics work can be found in numerous permanent collections including that of the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama.
